

Summer With UB
Upward Bound offers a six-week summer program. Over the course of these six weeks, students take academic “preview classes” Monday–Thursday. Fridays are reserved for community service opportunities, college trips and cultural events.
Academic Classes
“Preview classes” in Foreign Language, Math, Lab Sciences and English
Monday–Thursday, 7:30am–3:30pm, classes are 1 hour 10 minutes long
Community Service
Each summer students participate in a community service project
Previous service locations: Double H Ranch, Cole’s Woods, Adirondack Manor, Salvation Army
College Trips
Expose students to different types of colleges (Size, Location, Academic Offerings)
Most UB students see anywhere from 15-20 colleges over three years
Besides taking these classes, and attending trips, Upward Bound provides students with other opportunities.
College Credit Classes
A three-credit class offered to students through SUNY Adirondack
UB students can earn up to nine college credits before Freshman year of college
Job Shadow Program
Shadow a community member with a Bachelor’s Degree in their career field of interest
Paid internship experience
